I’ve been writing about philosophy and ethics in the public square for nearly twenty years. Over that time, I have often crossed paths with those engaged in business ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR). The more I see of it, the more I become convinced that something different, and better, is possible. I have set out my manifesto in this downloadable pamphlet. I’m currently exploring how to make that happen.
I am the author, c0-author or editor of over 20 books including How The World Thinks, A Short History of Truth, The Ego Trick, Freedom Regained and The Edge of Reason. I write for numerous newspapers and magazines including theFinancial Times, the Guardianand Prospect, as well as for the think tanks The Institute of Public Policy Research, Demos and Counterpoint. I was the founding editor of The Philosophers’ Magazine and have a PhD on the philosophy of personal identity. From 2019-2022 I was also Academic Director of The Royal Institute of Philosophy.
